Death of an SD Card

For some unknown reason, this SD card suddenly stopped working.  It was in the camera and so not subjected to static damage.  Saturday's original blip is buried within it.  I did take an alternative later using my phone but I am pretty hacked off.
I wonder if there's any way to recover the data - it doesn't even show up in my PC when it's installed.  Aaarrrrgggghhhh!!!!!!
