'A Little bit of Culture'

Our last day in Venice.......so we made some choices. Decided to forget about visiting the Basilica de San Marco....once again the queues were horrendous, much too hot to stand for two hours without shade. We made our way along the 'posh shops..Gucci etc' (bottom left) alleys to Accedemia, stopping off at the Museo della Music (see my selfie with Mandolins). Beautiful Vivaldi 'Four Seasons' CD being played....we could have gone to a Concert tonight, but really have run out of time.
Next stop Gallerie dell'Accademia, home to the world's greatest collection of Venetian paintings.
Top left..Giambattista Tiepolo 'Transport of the Holy House of Loreto'
Bottom right...by the same artist 'The Feast of the Cross' .....huge painting from floor to ceiling, and my favourite.
Middle right.....'Allegory of Mocenigo Virtues' by Jacopa Guarana.

This evening after dinner we splurged....had a Beer (Pete) and Ice Cream (me) sitting in St.Marks Square at 'Lavena's' enjoying the 'free' live musical entertainment. (43 Euro) ...,but the Ice cream was the best I've ever tasted. Haha. Venice VERY expensive but a great experience.!!
