Le Mont St Michel & St Malo
Et voila! We have finally arrived at Le Mont St Michel. There were lots of people, mostly retired folk like ourselves, and the shops and restaurants were really busy. This was the first time that Anne has been here, and she was not at all disappointed. We spent a lovely early afternoon there, before moving a little further along the coast into Britanny to the lovely medieval town of St Malo, another first for Anne but a place I have visited on many occasions. The first 4 extras are of Le Mont St Michel and the remaining 3 extras of St Malo, showing one of the many streets beneath the ramparts, full of restaurants of every kind and bustling with a number of bistro's. Once again, the place was packed, this time with young and old. We took a walk around part of the wall, which in fact goes all around the old town and takes over an hour to complete. We then went to the little harbour where we spotted a lovely ship dating back to 1743. We had a slight problem with the car whilst we were there but nothing serious, and a quick trip to a local garage and a tip of 20€ soon remedied the problem. We left late afternoon to return to Caen, where we are staying for the night. Tomorrow we will be returning home via the Normandy coast, so hopefully I should be able to get some more blips, and no doubt more interesting than my usual ones. We will be off to the restaurant in a while before retiring for the night after a very eventful and interesting day, albeit rather tiring. The weather has been fine too, not too sunny or hot, so quite pleasant. I hope you have had a good day and wish you a nice evening and take care of yourselves. Thank you once again for your following, which I really appreciate. A demain !
