Mono Monday - Tradition
It's a Bug's Life!
The tradition of Hospitality is vital in any community, nation or even household. This year we really did everything we could in the garden to encourage pollinators. In fairness we do that every year, but in the light of the ever increasing environmental threats to them (mostly at the hand of man) we planted bee and insect friendly plants across the gardens. And now as autumn takes hold of the land, it's time to find them a home for the winter ahead.
I was gifted a few packing case planks some time ago and never got around to using them as planned (new chicken coop), so today I knocked together the Bug Hotel, full of coir and twigs and bamboo and well rotten timber and a few lumps of old oak. A couple of spare roof tiles and a broken terracotta pot completed the place. And I didn't even apply for planning permission.
It's traditional on Blip to have a Mono on a Monday, and this one is part of MM138 hosted by Ingeborg, for whom thanks and a hotel room if you need it... ;-)
