"A group of motorcyclists got together one autumn evening to discuss bullying in schools. The group felt they wanted to educate young people, and do their share for the community. So the idea of the Motorcyclists Against Bullying in Schools (MABS) got started in Tampere, Finland that autumn evening in 2013. Since then more motorcyclists have joined in.
MABS has run several events around the country, and they have been well received. Due to the success of the work, MABS changed from being a Facebook-group to a registered, non-profitable organisation in 2014.
The organisation's aims are:
To educate young people about bullying and its effects;
To reduce school bullying;
Improve the atmosphere in schools;
Improve the pupils' attitude;
Encourage and empower pupils to come forward if they have been victims of bullying;
Encourage pupils to support each other.
During the visits, we want to tell the pupils how we are against the bullying in schools as well as provide support to the victims of bullying, and show them that they are not forgotten or alone.
We want to invite you to join us – to make a difference, and maybe even save someone’s life.
Every MABS bike is an important part of this cause, as is the rider. That's you!
