Innovation and Improvisation

Around 90% of my millinery materials are in boxes due to the flood in June, however I had promised my best friend in Australia a hat for the Melbourne cup. I was thus very lucky to find a perfect red dupion silk dress in a local charity shop, and using a base that I hadn't tidied away, managed to improvise and make the hat , including the roses, for a materials cost of around £8.00. It will cost far more than that to ship! And I think should retail for a lot more than that. I think it would rather suit the Duchess of Cambridge

I think we both decided that the one minus the arrow quills is best... So fingers crossed it survives the journey!
