Does this outfit make me look Healthy?

We were up early to get out of the house in time to travel to Sugar's appointment with a Chest Wall Deformity Specialist.  My mom went with us.  We got there in plenty of time, and got in to see the Specialist quickly.  I do like being the first appointment of the day.

We were super nervous, but soon, the Specialist was in the room, and we liked her right away.  Sugar was ROCKIN' the hospital gown look, and feeling sassy.  I may have been a worried mess, but she was calm.  Love my girl.  After the exam, the Specialist explained that indeed Sugar does have Pectus Excavatum.  This is where her sternum is growning inward as she grows.  This can be mild, moderate or severe.  Sugar's is measuring just over the line of mild and into the moderate level.  The indentation became deeper during her latest growth spurt.  Since Sugar is not showing any signs of her sternum compressing her lungs or heart at this time, the Specialist would like to wait a year and re-evaluate her.  During this year, I will be looking for any signs of shortness of breath or getting tired easily.  If her condition does indeed worsen during her next growth spurt it may become necessary to do surgical repair between the ages of 12 and 18.  THIS.SCARES.ME.  So, let's all pray that her's has stabilized, and will not worsen.  However, if.....and I say "if" surgery is needed, I just know my girl will do GREAT. (telling myself this over and over.....)  In the mean time, we will be working to get Sugar signed up for swimming practice 2-3 times a week to build up her stamina, and her chest wall muscles.  We will concentrate on exercises that will promote good posture as well.  This will help with the overall appearance of the indentation.  Whew......I'm feeling more calm since this appointment, but would continue to appreciate prayers and positive healthy vibes.

After the appointment, we celebrated with some shopping for a few new clothes items, and some hair barrettes.  We have lunch out, and enjoyed our time together.

After dropping my mom back at her house, we headed on home to check the baby bunnies (doing well), and for Sugar to work on a sewing project for a friend's birthday on Friday.  My goodness....it was a long...long day.
