Heya Beya
One of the highlights of my year.
Gorgeous little kidlets all dressed up in traditional outfits to celebrate Heya Beya. A historic tradition celebrated every year. Children prepare for the event days ahead bly planting wheat, malt or other seeds in a basket made of palm tree leaves, watering the plants daily until they grow. They then release the plants into the sea as they sing traditional songs as part of the ritual which heralds the imminent return of Haj pilgrims from Saudi. It also teaches children about the concept ofd sacrifice, which is a them of Eid. As they cast off the plants they have tended to.
