White shoes

Today's the day ............................ to be left on the shelf

I decided today that I would make an attempt to earn my keep in my present place of abode - and I would do a bit of light housework.

In my search for the vacuum cleaner, I came upon this cupboard with its shelf of neatly arranged, properly-paired white golf shoes - and it made me smile.  That's because, if you don't count the dog, there are only two people who live permanently in this house - and I can't imagine they would ever need that many pairs of white shoes.

Unless there's something going on here that I don't know about ......................?
