Calderstones
open for Heritage day
Chambered Tomb in Merseyside (City of Liverpool). These stones once formed part of a chambered tomb in what is now the area of Allerton, six kilometres to the south-east of Liverpool. They lay on an elevated plateau of sandstone, on light, well-drained soils at the head of a small valley, but all that remains of this ROM today are six highly ornamented stones known as The Calderstones.
