Bald Eagle

Busy Day

It was a beautiful morning. We were up early and had breakfast before cycling to the neighbouring village to ring the bells. We were the only learners this morning with the rest of the band being made up of experienced ringers, some of whom are among the best in Cheshire. We rang simple call changes and afterwards the tower captain said "Some of that was quite good." Now that may not seem like very high praise to you but believe me for him it doesn't get much better than that. Even some of the other band members were surprised at his level of enthusiasm. But it is all done in good part.

There are lots of different events being held locally over this weekend. After ringing we cycled through the village, past the cricket ground, where a match was in progress, and up to the walled garden. They were holding a food fayre and there was lots of lovely produce to buy. We sat in the sunshine outside the greenhouses and enjoyed a cup of coffee.

We cycled home before setting off again on our bikes for Walton Gardens where they were holding a country fair. There was lots going on including a Civil War encampment. The gardens were very busy with lots of folks enjoying the sunshine and all the activities which were taking place. It is good to see it being used and enjoyed by so many people.
