the great aussie meat pie

dont know if this counts because it was made with organic meat from an artisan baker so doesnt quite fit the spirit of yer bona fide meat pie.

it's a strange place for grub - a real blend of amazingly good, fresh, cheap, well made food mixed in with the greasiest fry up, meat pie and beer culture.

woke up gingerly after my late night and headed back to sydney on a really slllooowwww train through the less glam western suburbs which stretch for miles away from the ocean. great faceless neighbours-like swathes of housing.

came back over the harbour bridge which was closed for its 75th birthday - there was a gasp from everyone on the train as we came up from the tunnel and saw - instead of the usual 7 lanes of traffic - a sea of people walking across all wearing bright green baseball hats. some sight.

back to the h's for a relaxed sunday afternoon.
