Mestre

We have just arrived in Mestre, which is the mainland part of Venice. We are at the start of a cycling trip from Venice which will take us up around the Adriatic coastline into Slovenia and then Croatia, finishing in Porec. From here we will get the ferry back to Venice for a couple of cycle-free days. 
Unfortunately we arrived too late to get a decent blip, so this quick blurry snap will have to do. This was taken in the old part of Mestre just across the square from where we are staying tonight.
