Steffens

In Kingsland, Georgia is a restaurant that's been there since 1948.  I'm sure I posted an interior picture from the place last year when we ate there going to and from Florida.  Today, we went again coming home from Florida. The food is outstanding, and the service is even better.  I chose this black and white photo because it seems so typical of South Georgia, (perhaps now, but especially in 1948), and because the B&W fits the atmosphere of the place.  The reason the sign is hard to read, is the words Steffens Restaurant are painted on the sign, but then are written in cursive in neon tubes, so at night it really stands out, but in the daylight appears like shadow letters with the shadow on top of the painted ones.  Of course, a 4X4 pickup truck is standard issue for this setting (and area).
