A Halcyon Day

The third day was a marvelous letting go. For my brother, John and for me... With the exhibit reception behind us, all the stress of getting somewhere departed and we truly enjoyed where we were.

We drove around the beautiful Duke University campus just for the pleasure of it, and came upon the Sarah P. Duke Gardens. We paid for a half hour's parking, and forgot about leaving. The place was astonishing. I am late getting to this, so instead of trying to describe, I will use up most of my extras to let you see a good sampling of what we saw. We soaked up the beauty and relaxed into our shared experience. We even found a little café that reminded me of the café in The Rodin Museum's garden, and we ate outside. The pleasure of being in that place in harmony with nature and with one another stayed with us for the rest of the day. Imagine! A brother and sister in such accord!

First extra: Johnny smiling at the strange and marvelous plants and fish in a pond. Notice those huge flat dish like things. Some kind of lily pads? Then Koi Fish with reflected clouds; Cacti; Flowers and Palmettos in mono; Tiger Swallowtail feasting, Red Garden.
