pray for blue skies and sunshine

We desperately needed that this past week at the office...

It took a long time for the economic slowdown to hit us, but it finally did. They let 100 people go at the offices in North America on Thursday, and followed that up on Friday w/ mandatory closure of our NAM facilities the week following Christmas.

I thankfully still have a job, but since I had the most vacation time on my team left (mission critical teams were allowed to be staffed to 50% that week), at 105 hours, I was given the week off so that those w/out vacation didn't have to accumulate negative vacation hours.

It's all very unsettling ::sigh::
