Surprise Rhododendron

Oh what a lovely wet day!  Did manage to get a walk in before the heavens opened though.  Afterwards went to visit a friend in Carlisle to deliver some plums as I'd picked way too many the other day.  She was very happy to have them and was talking about making jam.  Then off to the supermarket and back home just in time to meet somebody to discuss a very much needed replacement patio and I should finally be able to say goodbye to the numerous weeds, woo hoo! :)

Anyhow today's blip really took me by surprise.  At this time of year this rhododendron produces one or two buds which never flower, so after seeing a few flowers on it this morning that was blip sorted!  Still raining :(
