Flower Friday - Home
He's home! Last night it wasn't looking good and we were thinking we might have him home to say goodbye. We didn't sleep much and there were many tears.
I went to school this morning with heavy heart.
Half way through period 1, where I was teaching the finer points (ironically) of 'les animaux' to my Year 7 French class, a text pinged through on my iPad. Mr B had heard from the animal hospital and the news was good.
Cousteau was responding to the meds and his levels were going down. He was coming home for R&R and a truck load of medication.
He's spent most of the past hour and a bit being patted, sleeping, having tummy rubs and licking his legs to try and get off the tape and other yuckness.
So, how is this Flower Friday? Well, as you can see, Cousteau's retro blankie has some rather fetching flowers on it, so it counts.
Actually, I just wanted to share my Cousteau with you. We're so glad he's home.
It's a cautionary tale for us. He has ingested something which was poisoned. We don't know if it was done on purpose or by accident. Either way, he won't be off lead for quite some time. I've heard of people putting out poisoned meat and bits of meat with fish hooks in. How much must you hate dogs to do something like that?
He's not out of the woods yet, but he's on the mend and he's home. We're all so relieved.
Night all.
