Shoes OK

L, from England, has been traveling in the mainland of Japan (mostly the west part) over two weeks, and Kanazawa, the capital city of Ishikawa Prefecture, was his second destination next to Tokyo. With two of our friends, S and H, I showed him around the beautiful castle town. I'm just a localish (the word by which L described me) of the city though.

The sign in the blip was at a shrine in the neighbourhood of Higashi Chaya (lit. teahouse) District. It lets the visitors know that they don't have to put off their shoes in climbing the stairs to worship. By the offering box on the main part of the shrine, there was also an English explanation of how to worship (as shown in the second extra photo).

At Kanazawa Station, we saw a hawker (or falconer), serving to get rid of pigeons around the station; I didn't capture the hawk itself that drew much attention as I was kinda absorbed in the sign that the man put to clarify what he was doing, as shown in the first extra.
