Memory
of East Hills
My effort for Abstact Thursday turned into a bit of a pigs dinner. Having a 'point and shoot', I don't really understand exposure stuff but I was aiming to get a sort of panning-ish effect and achieve some sense of overlaid sense of place, time and memory. Ho, hum, never mind. It was just a thought...
Thanks, as ever, to youoregon for hosting .... https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2220656928952942939
Wells May 15th
Young samphire shoots
suddenly so prolific
They crumple under foot
on the walk to
East Hills
A sand bank with
sharp grass and
Corsican firs
We make the journey
you have aspired to
And it is a journey
to nothing, and everything
To a hill that's not a hill
Rising barely twenty
feet above the high tide line
To a place that's not
a place
But a concentrated
collection of space
The only thing here
is what we bring
A way of being without
anything
But us
As it should be
for always
Like the creek tide
enduringly constancy
