The Glen of Aherlow.

This morning we finally made it to the leprechaun museum.  We heard stories, went in a room with giant furniture so we knew what it would be like to be a leprechaun, walked through a rainbow, found a pot of gold and had a selfie with seamus the leprechaun. From here we met Jeff and Kyle (not leprechaun fans) in the pub for a quick drink before heading to Tipperary. We stopped in Kildare for lunch and then headed to the beautiful Glen of Aherlow (where my mom was born). We checked into the lovely Aherlow house hotel and then headed back out to see the statue of Christ the king (today's picture). We then went to see the house where my Mom used to live. Its a gorgeous house but the curently owners have ruined it by painting the stone cills pink and replacing the original sash windows with modern ones (glad we paid the extra to get sash seeing this). Amazingly the pub over the road was open so we went in for a drink. My mom mentioned to the lady behind the bar that she used to live in the house over the road and she instantly new she was a Whelan. They then went onto talk about all the people that used to live in the Glen that have died (an Irish thing!). Us girls and Stu had a walk along the road before heading back to the hotel just in time for dinner.
It may be a long way to Tipperary but it's worth it.
