On the rocks
Talpa III has been with us for the last few days. Today there was a short break in the descent of the wet stuff and so we took ourselves off to the fishing village of Collieston. The village enjoys a small, but lovely, sandy beach, brilliant rock-pools and some great rocks to scramble over. We spent a happy couple of hours indulging in the usual seaside pursuits; sand castle construction, apprehensively scanning the gathering rain clouds, collecting dead crabs in a bucket, eating sandy sandwiches, stubbing toes on barnacle-encrusted rocks, extracting sand from between our toes, etc. etc.. Sadly the village shop is no more and so there was no ice-cream to be had, let alone fish and chips and mushy peas. Otherwise, a pretty good day at the seaside!
