Speckled Wood ...

... in the backyard today. Never seen this butterfly in the garden. I've to admit I had no idea what kinda butterfly it was. First I had to turn 125 pages of my Field Guide "Butterflies and other Insects in West and Middle Europe". Thats why I publish a bit late but ... I had my 'eureka' moment. The butterfly's scientifical name is Pararge aegeria.
