Green Dragon

This building has been here since C1500, and was a merchant's house at one time, and also the centre for the storage and export of wool.. It became a pub in the 1950's

It closed its doors two months ago, as the most recent owners could no longer keep up with rising costs, a sad fate befalling many traditional pubs in recent years. 

Who knows what will become of it now? I would love to see it continue as a thriving pub/restaurant or a boutique hotel. It's in a good location, and it would be a shame to see such a magnificent old building fall into disrepair or be turned into yet more expensive flats or student accommodation.
