Gateway Arch....
....in St. Louis, taken as we passed through! Tom & I left early this morning & are headed for Texas to be there for our granddaughters' first birthday. We had a bit of a scare, in that we were on the expressway-- about 45 minutes from Little Rock, Arkansas-- when we lost all power on the car. (& of course, I was driving!) The dash was lit up like a Christmas tree with different lights!! I coasted to the side of the road & stopped. I asked Tom if we could possibly be out of gas, as we were down to one bar & had actually been looking for a gas station, & Tom assured me that with one bar the car could go at least another 50 or 60 miles. He checked under the hood, checked the oil, checked the battery (all ok), then got behind the wheel and the car started. We made it to the next exit which luckily had a gas station. And guess what?? As soon as the tank was filled up with gas, all the lights went out and the car was fine! Thank goodness!! After 11 hours of driving, we're spending the night in Little Rock & will have about another 8 hours of driving tomorrow. We're not sure how long we'll be there--at least 4 or 5 days, and then we'll be stopping in NW Arkansas on the way back home to see my step-dau, son-in-law & the twins for a few days.
Having just managed to catch up, I'm now going to be behind again, but family comes first, right? :))
