Humming Bird Visitor
My little friend, the humming bird, yet to be named, is visiting the back porch feeder almost every evening. Sometimes he brings a friend, and they flit around chasing one another, occasionally darting down to the feeder positions and helping themselves to the nectar. I assume one of the vistors is male, the other female. They do seem to be close friends.
Watching their activities is somehow relaxing. The wings are pumping of fast it's like watching an airplane propeller. But they do seem to appreciate the nectar in the bottle.
I'm becoming so enamored with the little creatures that I've actually unpacked my one-time workhorse of a camera, the Canon Rebel T1i and the old telephoto lens. This picture was shot at iso 800, 240mm, f5/6, at 1/250. Focus is a little fuzzy because I was hand holding and shooting through a window screen.
