Budding writer!!!

My Great Granddaughter Caitlin, who is 9, entered a young writers competition through her school and she has been chosen to have her story "The Haunted House" printed in a book along with others who have been chosen. Not bad as some 45000 children entered the competition. As you can imagine we are very proud of her, and I told her that this is how writers sometimes start with short stories, and that as she gets older she could start writing longer ones. I also said she should jot down any stories that she has in her head so that later she could expand them and use them in longer stories.
She has a very vivid imagination, so who knows what her future could be.

Today has been very hot here in Kippax, we had a company come to give us a quote for some new windows and a conservatory today.  We did have one on Sunday but he only did windows and the price was OTT to say the least, this one was really helpful, and the quote was a good one more in line with what we thought, his quote for conservatory and windows was less than the other ones for just windows, he said he would even draw up the plans and see to the planning permission for it.  We have another 2 coming this week, we thought it best to get a few quotes before committing.
