Island Life

Another day, another island.

Eisdeal/Easdale.

It’s... oh... 100m from Seil.

A 12 seater ferry takes you between the 2 islands. Passenger only - no roads on Easdale. Nowhere to go. It’s too small.

I was there to go foraging for edible seaweed. A local marine biologist is an expert. I ate at least 6 kinds (raw) down on the beach, and then several cooked when we got back to the community centre. The seawater here is “grade A”. As pure as it gets.

Informative, interesting and it tastes good. 2 hours well spent.

All that salty food gave me a drouth, so I popped into the Oyster Bar in Ellenabeich as soon as I got off the return ferry. I got a Blip whilst wetting my whistle and enjoying the view.

The extra is the ferry heading back to Ellenabeich after whizzing us across the sound to Easdale.

Back to the Oyster Bar for dinner. 6 oysters (local) and then a huge big bowl of mussels (local), plus 2 glasses of Pinot Grigio (foreign). A good way to spend my last evening.
