Cornflower Macro

I thought as it is Tiny Tuesday I would look at a cornflower head in more detail.  Their heads to me have always looked a bit geometrical so I wanted to explore how this is achieved. The petals appear to bend back on themselves and thereby create lots of little triangles on the surface of the bloom
