African Grass-owl.

For those of you who love the little owls in Richmond Park, this is for you. Jen and I spent hours in a raptor sanctuary today, it was wonderful! The folk here do a magnificent job of caring for, and where possible, releasing injured birds of prey back into the wild. There were several species of owls, I thought this one was really magnificent. We learned that in the UK we have 21 species of raptors, in South Africa they have 81! In Mauritius there are 2 species, they do not have any Eagles.
We are off to Umfolozi Game Reserve tomorrow. I will be without WiFi for a few days, so will catch up when back in Kloof.
