Waiting to race

Ethan and Eden both took part in the junior version of the Bear Grylls Survival Race today.  Ethan has done obstacle course races before and loves them but this was Eden's first ever race.  This photo was taken at the start line just before the beginning of the race.  Eden got upset shortly afterwards as I think she was overwhelmed by it so I ended up running with her.  She was fine after that.  The other kids (4 of Ethan's friends were doing it too) dashed off as soon as the race started and I didn't see them again till the finish!

There were lots of other things to do there too and the kids all had a go on the climbing wall (Ethan was thrilled to reach the top), bouncy castles etc.  I was horrified at the prices though, considering how much the event itself normally costs (we were lucky to get tickets this time but for people who hadn't, it could have ended up a very expensive day out).

Once we had dropped Eden back off home in Bathgate, Ethan and I headed up to the local Cricket Club for their annual family fun day.
