Island Queen

17.9C with smir on and off all day. More on than off. Otherwise dull and cloudy. Zephyr.

Apothecary7's day off. We had thought we might go for a wander on Westport beach but there was smir this morning that looked set in for the day. A quick look at an online weather forecast showed that further North might be better, so mid morning we went North.

It was much better by the time we got to Tayinloan, so we turned off the main road and parked by the pier where the ferry goes to Gigha. We had a good wander on the beach. There was some blue sky over Gigha. Apothecary7 made two or three sketches and found some Sea Glass. I took far to many pictures of Island Queen and found some bits of pottery with colour on them. Maeve the Deerhound mostly just wandered or stood still. The tide was out so there was no paddling. By 1pm it was a bit cloudier but still dry.

We went to Glenbarr for lunch. It seemed to take ages for people's orders to be taken. No sign of the boss on the premises. We got so frustrated that we left. Disappointing.

Back to Campbeltown ... late lunch ... and the smir was still smirring !
