Branching Out

Into the habit of blipping a day late. Will try and up my game.

One thing I have noticed about trying to find something to write everyday is really how much that British stereotype is true; we are always talking about the weather. As I get older, small talk seems to become more prevalent. And it's always the weather. I'm as guilty as anyone.
Maybe I should throw a curve-ball in there to mix it up.

person: I can't believe all this rain. It's meant to be nice next week though.
me: Hmm quite. But do you think we have libertarian free-will?

I will say Olympics is a good topic for small-talk. Everyone suddenly has a mutual interest in sports that were previously the reserve of a very small niche.
Did you see that Dressage gold? Man those horses can prance!
I can confidently predict I will have zero interest in velodrome cycling for the next 4 years.

It was proper sunny today though, wasn't it?
