Mr. Elk is catching some zzz's
We visited Yellowstone National Park today and, wow, did we have a great time. On the local animal list, we saw this heard of elk plus some stragglers, probably 200 buffalo-some so close, they touched the car on their way down our roadway, two big horn sheep, a momma black bear and her two cubs who were also on the road in front of us, a lone wolf, birds, geese, ducks, and a cute chipmunk! We saw pronghorn deer yesterday here in Cody. Hoping to see a moose tomorrow and our wild game bucket list will be complete. We watched Old Faithful erupt, checked out other geysers, hot springs, waterfalls, gorgeous mountains, lakes and rivers. We walked through a brief snow and freezing rain storm, got to elevations around 8,600' and endured temperatures down to 36 deg. F with only thin jackets. We had quite an adventure!
