Roses and Olympics

Watching the 2012 Olympics provides some intense beauty and some thorny moments.

Today as I spied this newest rose in our garden, I thought it was intensely beautiful; then, I reached in to get a clear view and realized a thorny moment.

Watching the women's gymnastic events has been gripping. The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat were certainly in view today. All of these athletes are winners.
