Lock Gate

A great day spent on a narrow boat on the Lea (or is it) Lee Navigation.
Quite a few locks to negotiate between Broxbourne and Stanstead Abbot (and return).

Many thanks were due to the passer-by who advised us that we were not best moored in the lock at Stanstead Lock (No4).  It turns out that it has "has the reputation of being one of the country's most difficult to negotiate".  Given the rate at which the water entered the lock through the gate paddle, we were glad he'd told us.  I don't know how easy it is to refloat a sunken narrow boat but I guess it isn't easy.
