Sunday Morning Prayers

As I was walking at Golden Ponds this morning, I saw something white fly past and into the weeds just off the path.  I knew it wasn't a butterfly so I went to investigate and found this Praying Mantis.  I only see them once or twice during the summer so I was very happy.  It's so well camouflaged I never would have spotted it if I hadn't seen where it landed.  Even though he was very obliging, I had a hard time getting him in focus.  The sun was blazing and I was so hot and almost blinded by it.  It took forever to get a decent shot and I wasn't going to leave until I did!  I had to sit in the shade for quite a while to recover from the photoshoot.  ;-)
