A slice of Lesley's life

A very special sign

To some this may seem like the footpath is closed so we can have a new one laid. To Anna, the little private entrances this has created are so we can all feel like VIPs every time we leave and arrive home. Doing both with her today has been really quite entertaining.

A lovely day that has seemed both busy and productive (probably because we did the start of term diary planning we have avoided for a week) and relaxed and slow. Long morning dog walk to start the day. Anna had a double bass lesson to de-rust her rusty fingers and to stop her from asking us to help her find notes. It is an entirely futile ask - I can only play the piano where they are clearly delineated by keys and Carl plays the guitar which is slightly more in the right direction but handily has frets to give a guide. The double bass has nothing. Fortunately after a lovely hour with her very lovely teacher it has all come flooding back to her and she is now less apprehensive about the start of the RCM term.

A very nice afternoon for me and Anna at my brother's to celebrate his youngest's 4th birthday.

And an evening of reading my new book, Second Life by SJ Watson. I'm a tiny bit scared it may give me nightmares.

I hope not as I want to be well slept for the paps when I pop to the shops in the morning.
