New flue

Nick and I dismantled the old flue relatively easily. Putting the new flue up should have been simple, but the sections have a flange top & bottom, making them 2cm wider. There's a metal plate in the roof, that the flue passes through, that fits the old design but not the new one.

Nick started modifying it with my angle grinder, which promptly burned out. He continued with the jigsaw and we managed to get it all assembled. Adding the cowl was hard work - an excessively tight fit.

Angus was partying in Peebles last night, so he'll be crashing out tonight. I'm off to Alex & Claire's for curry - missing the Thanes again.
