I Love a Parade.....

Our city has a festival every year over Labor Day Weekend, & there's always a parade on Saturday, so I walked over to watch it this morning. It's not a really big parade, but it has enough to make it fun: marching bands, pom squads, people in historical costumes, animals, soldiers, drum and bugle corps, old cars, & I even found out our city has its own K9! He's beautiful--his name is "Bane" & he carries his own police badge (see the extra). Most of the people in the parade throw candy to the kids, who scramble madly to grab the pieces before someone else gets them! Afterward most everyone flocks to the park for food, beer, wine, rides, games and entertainment that goes well into the night! The helicopter is back this year too, and for only $50 you can ride in it for 5 minutes, which I think is a bit too steep of a price; although who wouldn't love to make $10 a minute!! :))
