Last of nautical things .....

My Great great Grandfather was a Mariner born in Fawley, Hampshire. He later settled in Sunderland.These Certificates of service arent clear but they show him in 1823 as an Apprentice 1831 as Mate and 1832 as Master. He did Coasting and Foreign trade probably on ship similar to those at Blyth. He was a boat owner also but no records of it in Sunderland. I did take the copy to Blyth and a crew member signed it as the Captain was off playing Volleyball.;-) I added the glass ornament which is a Maltese boat given to me by my penfriend of 60 years ago :-)
