Having watched Tom Westley flay the Worcestershire bowling all day for 238 not out, I was expecting to blip him in celebratory pose as Essex's captain, the opposition and the umpires applauded him off the field.

Instead, he gave his bat a modest waft and looked a bit sheepish about the whole thing. I like him even more now.
