The new sign

Yesterday I blipped the old sign for Ye Olde Boote Inn in the village as the men took it down.

This is the disappointing (to me) replacement. The back of it is plainly printed with the pub's name and this is the front. 

The background to the fisherman isn't here (we have no lakes, just the castle moat) and I liked the link with Dick Whittington and his cat. It was also good to see Whittington Castle on the sign.Perhaps it's because the old one has been hanging there for the 30 years that I've lived here so it felt part of the village.

Tomorrow I'm off to another folk festival, this time in Suffolk so it will probably mean back blips again.
