Ceiling

Wrote many emails and played some music during the day, then late afternoon had a call from my former colleague Gareth saying that he'd arrived in Edinburgh. I met up with him for a short scenic tour - went up to the High St on the no 35 bus, which is now possible again after the festival hordes have left. Then we collected Mr H and went to the Vaults for a meal and much comparing of drams. G has only recently become a member of the society and it was his first visit - he was very happy. He'd been enjoying a conference on topology for the last couple of days, so we were able mostly to avoid the painful subject of work.

I don't seem to have taken any photos apart from this one - the camera was lying on its back on the table (rather than I!) The illustrations on the ceiling were done by...Bob Dewar, I think?
