Frank Lloyd Wright: Gordon House
The Gordon House is the only FLW designed home in the Pacific NW. It was a Usonian House design, a concept for affordable middle class homes. Started in 1957, it was located adjacent to the Willamette River in Wilsonville, Oregon.
When its 2001 owners decided to demolish it and build new, The Frank Lloyd Wright Conservancy dismantled the house and moved it about 20 miles to the Oregon Garden in Silverton, Oregon.
It was a pleasant drive from Salem east to the Gorge via back roads that went directly past this garden and The Oregon Garden Resort. I have attended several retreats at this locale and it is always a treat to wander the garden and work in this relaxing setting.
