Cars!

We were supposed to pick up a Jeep Renegade from Sixt at Edinburgh Airport on Saturday. They didn't have it, or anything similar. And effectively downgraded us to a bottom of the range Renault Captur that had neither the capacity nor the power for the trip we are undertaking. But we didn't have time to argue, since we needed to get on the road to arrive in time at my sister's.

So we have spent the last few days corresponding by email with Sixt to try to remedy the situation before we head for the islands.

We were beginning to despair until this morning when we received, whilst en route to Glasgow, a phone call from Stuart at Sixt's city centre office. He said he would sort us out. And, true to his word, he did.

He didn't have a Jeep Renegade either, but upgraded us to a top of the range Mercedes GLA200d 4x4 at no extra cost. So, hat off to Stuart and Sixt for coming through trumps in the end!
