Almost autumn...

Tomorrow is , officially, the first day of autumn.  

Only a  few trees are beginning to show signs of change but today felt like autumn anyway, and not a nice one.    

It was damp , a bit chilly, windy and there was some awful news on the Cowal shore where a wee 12 year old boy was killed in a road traffic accident - a wee boy who until  comparatively recently had been at Cathleen’s school and had been taught by her and her colleagues.  All the  intersecting communities - family, school, village - are  in shock. 

News headlines that usually seem to be  from elsewhere are deeply personal, and deeply felt,  where they happen on our doorsteps.
