Royal Pavilion, Brighton
Now a famous icon of Brighton, this ornamented building is an architectural treasure. It started off in the late 1700's as a pleasure palace for the decadent King George IV. In the following years, the Royal Pavilion has served as a civic building, World War 1 hospital and in latter years, as a favourite must-see feature for visitors to Brighton.
The gardens, the Museum (a separate building in the grounds) and the Pavilion itself make a really enjoyable visit.
