Marya came in today!! Yea!! Perfect timing as yesterday her airport was iced in, and today it was a smooth schedule, if not a smooth flight. A seasoned traveler, the motion was a bit much this trip, I hear.

I waited here for her, watching the "inspected ones with tickets" come and go behind this glass and had a sudden Sci-fi moment of thinking what would it be like if we were somehow really separated from one another in this way, by a wall of glass. Seeing one another, but unable to reach out to one another. It was a weird flash, I must say.

Once upon a time, people went to the airport and had a leisurely time of it, perhaps going together to the observation deck to watch planes as they came and went. We even were able to take personal items such as perfume and toiletries on the planes. It was a magical time, before our great freak outs.

I miss it, and I do not like to be manipulated by fear. I do like this new window-wall though, because now we are able to see our people as they arrive and depart. It is a bit better.
