Lovely Llangollen.
First day of my two weeks of with my lovely family. The plan, day out, day in for two weeks... sounds like a plan not even the weather can spoil.
So a day trip to Llangollen it is then. Great little place with a nice stroll besides the river, shops of holiday tat (got a fridge magnet), ice creams, fish and chips, a canal with horse drawn barge trips and close by to Pontcysyllte Aquaduct, built in 1805 by the main civils man Mr Thomas Telford and William Jessop. I could rattle on for ages about the Aqueduct, but to keep this concise i suggest you google it. I did attempt to press the matter of the construction methods together with budgets to the kids but i had to stop for fear of them falling asleep and falling off the thing. You can walk it (which we did) or take a canal boat out of Llangollen Wharf. All in all a great family day out. May return to explore the steam trains.
So here it is my photo, my three boys eating ice creams. The youngest is straight into it, back to the world in the land of ice creams ( note the yougests ice cream lasts the longest). Middle Son loves his ice cream, waying it up as if planning a surgical procedure ( this ice cream lasts second longest). Then theres the oldest, whom eats most things whole.I believe 6 bites and a bad bout of brain freeze and it disappeared.
